Bush Adventure Therapy is a new discovery for me ~ though it has been a recognised practice for many years. Essentially, B.A.T. is about using nature based activities to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Sometimes referred to as “Wilderness Therapy” in other countries, in Australia we have an intrinsic connection to that which we call “bush”, therefore we refer to it as BUSH Adventure Therapy.
As someone who’s lived my whole life loving everything about nature, the next step in my journey is to spend the next 2 years training, building a formal framework around practices and philosophies which are already an integral part of who I am. This is my calling. **update** sadly I’ve had news that the course I want to study has been delayed from 2018 to 2019. Oh well – a little longer to wait.
The following clip really describes how I feel about this new adventure. The wild calls me home and Lindsey Stirling’s beautiful violin accompaniment brings tears to my eyes.
